Finding ad

Thanks to some very informative folks in the online adoption community, I was able to locate Jiushu's "finding ad" on the internet yesterday.  Finding ads are placed in local newspapers after a child is found abandoned, in an effort to locate the child's family and/or to verify the child's orphan status.  Adopting families value this piece of their child's history, as it usually contains the first photo taken of the child.  The information in the ad was not new to me, but the photo is priceless.  My husband is not convinced this is our son, but that is no surprise.  With each new update, he questions if it's the same kid, and thinks perhaps the wrong child will be delivered into our arms later this month.

This ad ran in a Jiangsu newspaper on July 19, 2010, so I don't know if this is a newborn photo or was taken a bit later.  His is not the picture I would have guessed first, but after matching the dates, staring repeatedly at the photo, and comparing to his older pictures, I'm fairly certain.  I'm beginning to know the curve of his ears and the shape of his sweet nose!  {Me to DH:  Look!  Look at those ears!  Those are his ears...and his nose...they're the same as the other pictures.  Don't you recognize them?  That's him! etc.}
Love you, baby.  See you real soon.

That is a treasure! How did you find it yourself? Wow! As for the picture...Sarah's is awful. All I can say though is it must have been a look of utter fear when they took the pic. Her *hinese passport pic is just as awful. She was scared witless that day. =(

So amazing. Can't believe you found it online! We have Lydia's finding ad -- we were given a hard copy when we received her. But, the picture is so tiny. I'd love to find it online.

That's funny about Vince. I'm sure whoever you end up bringing home is in desperate need of a loving family.

Aww, what a cutie! I think it's him, but then again I wasn't staring at a bunch of baby photos! Congrats on finding this priceless piece of his past!

Oh, Jerusha! I have got to know how you located his finding ad. We can barely see the copy we were given with our Joy so I would REALLY like to find it. Can you give me some direction?

Thanks,
Laura

Oh by the way, beautiful piece of paper you have there....TA.
