We're in Beijing...

...despite a series of unfortunate events, including, but not limited to our original flight being canceled (the new flight they wanted to put us on would have resulted in our missing orientation, lunch, and sightseeing with our agency travel group), an unscheduled three hour drive to Des Moines airport at two a.m., another delayed flight, and having to be rerouted back through Des Moines on our way home.  Which means a three hour drive in the car back to Kansas City with our new son at the end of a very long day of flying.

But all that said, we are tremendously grateful to be here, and looking forward to tomorrow's activities!  Our hotel is amazing, and I am super-duper excited to sleep horizontally tonight.

P.S. to add that the tub in our room has its own TV w/ a waterproof remote.  And a walk-in closet.
