MY BROTHER IS HOME

The following is a guest post by my eldest son, who's been begging me for his own blog for some time now.  He loves to type in all caps.

I CAN’T BELIEVE JIUSHU IS HOME WITH MY MOM AND DAD! I’M SO GLAD THAT THEY’RE REALLY HOME! JIUSHU IS SO CUTE BUT HE’S BEEN KIND OF FUSSY SO MOM AND DAD HAVE BEEN PUTTING HIM TO BED. BUT I STILL LOVE HIM EVEN WHEN HE’S FUSSY. HE STILL HAS TO LEARN TO FEED HIMSELF BUT HE’S LEARNING! HE’S DEFINITELY LEARNING. WE DON’T THINK HE HAS NERVE DAMAGE. BUT HE CAN’T CRAWL AND CAN’T TALK BUT HE CAN SIT UP. THAT’S GOOD. I FEELGOOD THAT THEY’RE HOME EVEN THOUGH I HAD A GOOD TIME WITH AUNT RACHEL AND AUNT GENA AND MAMIE AND POPPY AND OUR FRIEND RACHEL. MOM AND DAD GOT HOME BEFORE I GOT HOME FROM THE SWIMMING POOL WITH MY POPPY. IT’S GOOD TO SEE THEM AGAIN. AT 10:48 AM HERE, IT IS 11:48 PM IN CHINA. CHINA IS 13 HOURS AHEAD OF US.

THANK YOU, EVERYBODY FOR VISITING MY MOM’S BLOG AND READING THIS POST.

Greetings from Estonia!

Great blog post! I've followed your adventure since I saw on Facebook that Vince spoke at NHOP. I'm so excited about what God is doing with you guys. Peace and grace as you continue through this transition.

Blessings,
Lisa Washco

I'm reading it! My son just wanted to start his own blog too. It's fun, isn't it? You should check his out -- he just started it this morning actually. He's 9 years old and very excited about it. www.mydisneyclub.blogspot.com

And, congrats on your new baby!

Dear Ari David,
You so such a precious boy, and such a wonderful writer! I loved reading your post. We DID have a lot of fun the two weeks Mom and Dad were in China, huh? I liked getting to spend more time with you, and now I miss you! I'm glad little Jiushu has such a wonderful big brother who will love him and teach him many things.
Love and hugs,
Aunt Gena
P.S. Did you know I will be flying to Colorado Thursday evening and will be there for about 10 days? So I will see you when I get back, OK?

I LOVE this kid! I am so happy you guys are home and cannot wait to see you guys. As a person who feels so called to adoption, so much that I don't care if I ever have biological children, your post was very helpful. While I wish you guys hadn't gone through all of that...it does help paint an amazing picture of what rescuing a child is really like. Its glamarous from an outsider's point of view, but the day-to-day struggles are not fit for one of our Christian "feel good without having a reality check" movies. haha. Anyways, can't wait to see you guys. Please take as long as you need to get adjusted back to life. Just know your NHOP family is waiting for you all whenever the right time comes around. Love you all!
