Walmart gets its own post

Our guide, Denise, took us to Walmart this afternoon.  Just getting there (walking) was an experience...there is SO much retail here!  We went in search of a small fan for our room and cheap sunglasses for me.  Got a fan, but thought the sunglasses were too expensive at almost $14.  Found two pair in a little shop on the way back to the hotel for $1.50 each.  Yep, that's more like it!
Underground shopping on the way

With Denise.  See, J's mad we stopped moving.
Clearance...my favorite!

Walmart in China was so much fun! That's great you took a photo with your guide. We didn't take one and I really regret that.

Adam was able to go to China in 2005 on a Missions Trip and they had to stop when they saw a Wal-Mart. He said it was odd how at checkout instead of candy like we have, it was pickled eggs, chicken feet, dried dragonflies.... Glad you are getting in some sightseeing and some great pics for him to look back on.

Good times, good times. Loved seeing all the stuff sold in those department stores -- insane really.

I found your blog a week ago and am truly enjoying your journey to your son. :)
We are going on the same journey although some months behind you and you are doing such a great job capturing all the details that go into the process.
I really admire how you are detailing your son's feelings and yours as well as you get to know one another.
Blessings on your journey!

I've actually never been in the Walmarts over there, but I so gotta get to IKEA while I'm in Beijing though.

Loving the photos!

I have been out of town but have been praying for you! I knew when I got home I needed to get on your blog and see your sweet little boy in your arms. Praying that he continues to grieve is loss and looks to you for comfort and security! He is just precious!
Blessings
