I toyed with the idea of being a big ole scrooge, at least when it comes to decorating, but I have embraced my inner Martha and am now just waiting to see if the tree will survive the small Chinese explorer who has come to live at my house. My "no"s are not exactly being met with joyful compliance, if you catch my drift. So we'll see. But we were happy to add one new ornament this year.
I'm also a little concerned about the welfare of my nativity set. Things are already askew.
I do love my scrappy, $10 Target tree. She cleans up pretty good.
May our days leading up to the celebration of the birth of Christ be full of joy, new memories, and attention to all the things which really matter.

hey brave momma! few extra hints... i think firecracker is more well... you know what im thinking.
we actually screw our tree into the floor thru the carpet - it leaves no holes and keeps the tree from being knocked over. we've done it for 9 years now... and 7 times in this house in the same area and no screw holes or damage at all.
also - for exploring fingers... i would put the no-big-deal ornaments on the bottom for shu and firecracker to move, explore, touch, eat, play with, drop, and rearrange... make it fun for the cute chinese boy! this is so NEW and AMAZING!!!!!!!!
as for jesus... well, i bet firecracker loses him before his birthday! (check where you find jeggings stashed - ha!!!!)
We are also wondering how our tree will fare this year. It will be interesting to see whether we can keep any of the ornaments on. Good luck with yours!
